Dr Gutwein is a Board Certified Family Physician with over 25 years of clinical experience, superb interpersonal skills and a reputation for excellence in comprehensive, integrated health care delivery.

Being the 7th of 9 children, Dr. Gutwein was raised on a chicken farm in Northern Indiana where her dream of becoming a physician took root. She launched this pursuit by attending Purdue University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa with a B.S. in Chemistry in 1985. Thereafter, she received her MD from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1989, having developed an interest in and commitment to family medicine while there. She attended St. Vincent Hospital Family Medicine Residency, and, after three years of post-doctoral training, Dr. Gutwein moved to Sheridan, Indiana, where, in addition to medical practice, she enjoyed raising her three children, school volunteerism and attending their countless soccer, basketball and football games.

Dr. Gutwein has a special interest in mental health and primary and secondary prevention. She has experience in psychiatry, comprehensive employee health, occupational health, medical missions and Urgent Care medicine and has been on over 17 medical missions, including hurricane relief trips to Nicaragua and Haiti. Her healthcare delivery philosophy is grounded in patient education, personal empowerment, facilitated self-care and faith.

She has resided in Zionsville for 5 years. In addition to spending time with her three adult children, family and friends, Dr. Gutwein enjoys reading, live music, trail bike riding, travel, playing violin and piano.
