A board-certified family practitioner, Dr. Roger Spahr will serve as one of the main physicians at the AFC/Doctors Express Lawrence location, 10950 Pendleton Pike in Indianapolis. He returns to Indiana after serving in the positions of medical director and chief science officer at nutraMetrix, a division of Market America, in Greensboro, N.C.

During his 20 years in primary care, Dr. Spahr practiced as a family care physician at Health and Wellness of Carmel, Our Health and Northeast Family Physicians. He also served as medical director of Health Synergies, BodyLogicMD and The Spahr Center.

In addition to inpatient and outpatient medicine, Dr. Spahr has six years of experience working specifically in urgent care centers through Community Hospitals of Indianapolis, where he also served for two terms as family medicine department chair along with many other hospital-based committees.

Originally from Portland, Ind., Dr. Spahr received his Bachelor of Science in biology and medical technology from Ball State University and his Doctor of Medicine from Indiana University School of Medicine. He did his family practice residency at Community Hospitals of Indianapolis as well as a fellowship in functional medicine.

Dr. Spahr resides in Indianapolis. He is also an associate clinical professor of family medicine at IU and has written for several local publications, including Indy Metro Woman, Active LIFE Magazine and Carmel Topics.
